The National Auto Transport Agency

The National Auto Transport Agency is the authority that ensures the implementation of public policy documents and national development strategies in the field of road transport, controls and supervises compliance with national and international legislation in the field by road transport operators and by enterprises carrying out activities related to road transport.

Civil Aeronautical Authority

The Civil Aviation Authority is an administrative authority for certification, supervision and control in the field of civil aviation, and is subordinate to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

The mission of the Authority consists in the implementation of policies in the field of civil aviation and the supervision of compliance by natural and legal persons with the legislation in this field to ensure the safety of flights, aeronautical security, consumer protection and occupational safety.

Naval Agency of the Republic of Moldova

The Naval Agency of the Republic of Moldova is the administrative authority subordinated to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and is the successor of rights and obligations of the Public Institution "Giurgiulesti Port Authority" and of the State Enterprise "Naval Register".

National Office for Regional and Local Development

The National Office for Regional and Local Development (ONDRL) has the mission of monitoring the implementation process of regional and local development projects. The entity provides operational support to local public authorities in order to receive funding requests and ensure the disbursement of financial sources.

The areas of intervention of the Office are:

• Improving local technical and utility infrastructure – public lighting, energy efficiency, and rehabilitation of public buildings;
• Construction and renovation of social infrastructure – schools, kindergartens, cultural houses, playgrounds etc.;
• Improving water supply, sewage systems, wastewater treatment stations etc.;
• Urban development, especially in district centers;
• Co-financing projects implemented with external funding.

Railway Agency

The Agency’s mission is to ensure the implementation of state policies in the field of railway transport and to oversee compliance by individuals and legal entities with the regulatory framework regarding railway traffic safety and the quality of railway transport services.

The Agency carries out the following functions:

• Implementing state policy in the field of railway transport;
• Ensuring an optimal level of railway transport safety;
• Protecting consumers in the field of railway transport;
• Ensuring the application of the regulatory framework through certification activities, continuous oversight, and control in the field of railway transport;
• Ensuring the fulfillment of obligations and the realization of the Republic of Moldova’s rights resulting from international treaties in the field of railway transport.

The Regional Development Agency (RDA) is a non-commercial public institution with financial autonomy, subordinated to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova. The institution provides assistance to local public administration authorities in the balanced and sustainable development of localities in the northern, central, and southern regions of the country by identifying opportunities and possibilities for achieving regional development priorities, namely:

• Analyzes the socio-economic situation and issues in the respective development region;
• Develops regional development strategies and operational plans;
• Coordinates the process of aligning the Regional Development Strategy and the Operational Plan with the National Development Strategy, and with sectoral plans related to the respective development region;
• Develops regional development projects and programs;
• Strengthens the capacities of authorities and organizations involved in regional development;
• Ensures the implementation and financing of regional development programs and projects;
• Attracts local and foreign investors;
• Coordinates regional development activities with central and local public authorities, civic associations, and other institutions and organizations from civil society and the private sector;
• Promotes the development region both within the country and abroad.
